Here is a synopsis of the smurfs movie:
While the Smurfs are preparing for the Blue Moon Festival, the Big Smurf sees in his cauldron a vision of the awkward Smurf trying to catch a magic wand while the other Smurfs are locked in cages by Gargamel.
Not wishing this prediction to be realized, the Great Smurf refuses to let the awkward Smurf go out to pick sarsaparilla, but the latter disobeys and unwittingly leads Gargamel and his cat Azrael to the village.
The Smurfs, frightened, flee. The awkward Smurf, followed by the Great Smurf, Smurfette, Spectacled Smurf, Grizzly Smurf and Rash Smurf, finds refuge under a waterfall forbidden access.
The group is sucked by a gigantic vortex that leads them straight into the city of New York. Followed by Gargamel and Azraël, they finally find themselves in the apartment of Patrick and Grace Winslow, a couple whose wife is pregnant. After putting things right, the Winslow agreed to host the Smurfs.
The next day, the Smurfs follow Patrick to his office, Anjelou cosmetics, to find a "Star" (a telescope) and calculate the night they can go home. But they need a formula for this. Patrick explains to them that there is an old book in the library, in which he could find this famous formula.
